Apologies and Comic-Con

Well... I warned you that I'm not very good at consistent writing.  I'm sorry.

So, I haven't been practicing my witchcraft as often as I would like.  Somehow I need to balance my work and free time to make room for witchcraft.  The problem with me is there's so much I enjoy doing in my free time.  I love reading, sketching, painting, researching, listening to music, napping, playing video games, watching movies, dorking around online and hanging out with my family.
I also need to find some time to run to Earthly Awakenings and Spirit Goat and stock up on some supplies. I've been really wanting to get some peppermint and eucalyptus oil.  I also really want to get some jet and kunzite.
So, my tarot card 'o the day is the Three of Swords.  It basically means "sorrow through knowledge".  I'm still not sure how that applies to me today.  I'll have to keep thinking about it I guess.
The other day, I took a quiz online just for the hell of it on which tarot card suits you best.  I took it twice and for some reason, I kept getting The Sun card.  Unfortunately, I know that's a bunch of bullshit.  I am the most pessimistic person I know.  I don't understand it at all.

So, in other news, I'm getting ready for Comic-Con that's coming to Salt Lake City this September.  Me, my sister and my brother will be spending the entire three days in a hotel right across from the Salt Palace Convention Center.  I've been thinking about what cosplay I want to do.  I'm seriously thinking about doing Selim Bradley/Pride from Fullmetal Alchemist. I'm short, I already have short hair and it's a fairly cheap and easy costume to put together.  Also, Pride is my favorite homunculus.  I'll post some pictures once I put it together.  You guys can tell me how lame I look :)

For those of you who don't know, this is Selim Bradley/Pride.  He's a little boy who is actually a homunculus/a physical incarnation of the sin Pride.  The most expensive part of the costume will probably end up being the violet contacts.

Card O' The Day: Queen of Cups (reversed)

So, today's card was the Queen of Cups (reversed).

Core Meaning: Someone who supports and nurtures emotions, relationships, and artistic endeavors.

I've been thinking that, perhaps, this card was referring to my decision to start actually posting stuff on my blog.  Or, it could mean my artist block has been lifted.  I finally had some inspiration come to me and have been able to sketch again.
That's all I could think it would be...
I'll ponder it and let you know if I come up with anything else

Tarot Cards

So, awhile ago, I broke down and bought myself a deck of tarot cards.  There are so many decks to choose from!  I had no idea until I browsed through Amazon (my favorite website).  I ended up purchasing The Steampunk Tarot set.  (I have a slight obsession with all things steampunk)
The set included a gorgeous set of tarot cards and an equally beautiful manual.

The manual's been a great help since I had absolutely no friggin' clue what I was supposed to do with these cards.  (I've been studying and have a basic idea of what to do :)
I've been trying to do a reading every day.  Most of the time it just ends up being a Card O' The Day thing.  I draw a single card that is supposed to be a guide for my day.  Sometimes, I find it helps.  Most times, I don't understand.
So, I will try to post my Card O' The Day reading each day.  I'm a space-cadet and cannot guarantee this will really happen.  But I'll try my hardest!
I've also tried to do a couple of spreads: Three-Card Draw, Celtic Cross, and a Lost Item Spread.  Each time I do a spread, I will take a picture of it and explain how it goes.
I've acquired a few favorite cards: The Hermit, Death, Page of Wands, Two of Swords, and The Hanged Man.

The Hermit:  "To see the glow of your own light, go into the dark."

Death: "The gentle silence of death takes all you sorrow, transforms it, and gives it back to you as love."

Page of Wands: "Yes, I have a very cool weapon. Yes, I know how to use it. No, I'll do it when I'm good and ready."

Two of Swords: "La-la-la-la-la-la-la - I can't hear you. Just a bit occupied at the moment. Please go away."

The Hanged Man: "A little shift in perception, that's all that was needed."

If anyone has stories, experiences, anything to do with tarot... I would LOVE to hear about it!
Comments make me very happy :)
